If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. – Mother Teresa
There is a difference between activity and achievement. I am beginning to see that the only achievement that matters is love. The only activity that is worthy is that which consists of actions that are motivated by love. If love is not the motive, then move on to what you are to do that is motivated by love.
I am becoming aware that many of my goals and aspirations have not been motivated by love, but by the need for recognition, approval, and attention. That need was a character defect and it is what has been changing; it is fading away.
Life is not about sitting around dreaming up things to accomplish or master. It is about relationships; with God, myself, and others. It is about love and love is work made visible. That is another way of saying that love is service to others and that service to others is the highest form of loving oneself.
